Introduction

Australian Visa Planners Pty Ltd is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines our policies and practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.

Adherence to Privacy Principles

We adhere to the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) as outlined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Our practices comply with these principles when we collect, use, disclose, and store your personal information. For more details on the Australian Privacy Principles, please visit the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner’s website of The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner

Collection and Use of Personal Information

Definition and Purpose

Personal Information refers to any information or opinion that can identify an individual. We collect this information to evaluate your situation, provide advice, and offer relevant services. Information is gathered through various channels such as correspondence, telephone calls, emails, messages, website forms, and third parties including social media sites and publications.

Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of collecting your Personal Information is to provide our services. If you become our client, we will collect detailed information about you, your family, employer, and other relevant parties as required for the services you have engaged us for. This information may include your name, address, phone number, date of birth, marital status, etc. We may obtain this information through voluntary questionnaires and from third-party providers such as employers and educational institutions.

Use for Secondary Purposes

We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, provided such use or disclosure would be reasonably expected by you.

Communication

We may send you emails with relevant information, updates about changes in migration law, and marketing emails including access to free downloads, webinars, events, blog posts, videos, and reports. You have the option to unsubscribe from these communications. Additionally, we may send WhatsApp and/or SMS reminders and notifications to the phone numbers you provide, which you can opt out of as well.

Transaction-Related Information

When we collect personal information for transactions, such as credit card verification or order placement, it is understood that you consent to its use for that specific purpose only.

Client Communication

Engaging our services means you will receive important information through our automated customer relationship management system and direct, non-automated emails. You can withdraw your consent from receiving these communications, but we will need to discuss this with you to ensure continued service provision.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties without your express consent, except where required by law. We may disclose your information to government agencies, translators, education service providers, couriers, or other necessary entities. Only the requisite information is provided to these parties.

Access to Personal Information

We take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access to your personal information. You have the right to access and update the Personal Information we hold about you, subject to certain exceptions. There is no fee for accessing your information, though we may charge an administrative fee for providing copies. Identification may be required before releasing requested information.

Maintaining Information Quality

We are committed to ensuring your Personal Information is accurate, up-to-date, and complete. If you find any inaccuracies, please inform us as soon as possible so we can update our records and continue to provide quality services.

Security of Personal Information

We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. Our practices align with industry best practices and the Migration Agents Registration Authority Code of Conduct. We employ administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data, and our employees receive training on proper data handling.

Sensitive Information

We may collect sensitive personal data, such as race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, health conditions, character matters, political opinions, and religious beliefs. This data is given the highest level of protection and is used only for the primary purpose for which it was collected, unless otherwise consented to or required by law.

Data Storage

Client data is stored on secure servers, with access restricted to registered migration agents and protected by passwords. Our databases are hosted and managed by Zoho, with our shopping cart managed by GoDaddy. Data is stored securely through Zoho and Google, protected by firewalls. We retain your data as long as legally required, generally for seven years after the last entry on your file.

Third-Party Services

We utilize third-party services for payment processing, CRM, project management, and other functions. These third parties collect, use, and disclose your information only as necessary to perform their services. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies for more information on their data handling practices. Links on our website may lead to third-party sites, whose privacy practices we do not control.

Policy Updates

We may update our Privacy Policy in response to changes in laws or privacy practices. Please review the Privacy Policy periodically for updates.
